Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes are focused on a step by step breakdown of specific grappling movements and submissions. An adult Jiu-Jitsu class typically consists of a dynamic warm up, an emphasis on instruction and technique, and an opportunity to spar or “free roll” and apply that learning towards the end of class. Although conditioning is not the primary focus, BJJ is an excellent core workout and is likely to improve your functional fitness and challenge you in new ways. Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program has the most experienced coaches in College Station, and is by far the largest team, offering experienced BJJ practitioners the best training partners and affiliations, and beginners the best opportunity for growth and advancement. As a first time visitor you will quickly feel right at home, as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is an empowering and addicting sport where you may compete individually, but you will learn and grow as part of our team.

As an incredibly fun sport, a never the same dynamic workout, a private self defense lesson, or a gateway into the world of Mixed Martial Arts, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is always a fulfilling and worthwhile adventure.

 

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu No Gi / Wrestling

Wrestling is the oldest martial art and is widely regarded as the best base for Mixed Martial Arts, and fighting period. At BVMMA, we honor that tradition. Whether you are looking for an intense workout, better take downs, or are chasing a State Wrestling Championship, BVMMA’s renowned wrestling program with over 40 years coaching experience can get you there. Wrestling is a perfect complement to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as it can greatly improve your top game and escapes, it outshines even Judo in regards to competition take downs, and improves hip strength and coordination which can result in more effective Kickboxing and enhanced athleticism in other sports including Football. A must for anyone looking to be a part of our competition team!
